Today, the girls and I went to the Watson family shower for Darren's bride-to-be, Alison. It was really nice. It's a tradition on Neil's Mom's side, and I think it's especially nice when welcoming new members to the family. (They had a similar bridal shower for me six years ago.) On Friday evening, we'll go to the Avonlea community shower for Ali as well. We're very excited that Ali is joining our family. She and Darren are a great couple!
I spent all day yesterday scrapbooking with my friends and some of their friends. Our regular group of four expanded to eight yesterday as we had our own mini scrapbooking retreat. We occupied a meeting room at the Emerald Park Golf Club for 13 hours and all they asked was that we have all of our meals in their restaurant. It was a great bargain. They didn't charge a penny for the room and the food in the restaurant was good and inexpensive to boot. Plus, we had the excitement of a bird flying into our room. Some of the ladies moved at lightning speed to get out of the room and it was pretty funny!
This page is based on the Simple Scheme on page 57 of the Nov/Dec 2005 issue of Simple Scrapbooks magazine. I used a rub-on quote at the bottom which says, "How beautiful is youth! How bright it gleams! With its' illusions, aspirations, dream! Book of beginnings, story without end, each maid a heroine, and each man a friend! Henry Wadsworth Longfellow"
