Today was exceptional.
Instead of going to my office, I attended the first day of a two-day course/seminar. It was absolutely fantastic! The course is Web Essentials (re: managing web content and writing for the web) with Gerry McGovern, who came all the way from Ireland to deliver this to us. He's an excellent speaker and the information he's providing is so true and useful and empowering. I lapped it up, and I can't wait for the second half tomorrow!
When the girls and I arrived home, about 15 minutes earlier than usual, we spent over an hour outside. I raked up all of the leaves while Sophia happily rode her bike back and forth on the sidewalk and Madeline happily followed her back and forth. It was absolutely gorgeous out this evening.
Then we ate supper--leftovers. This no cooking thing is working out brilliantly. I put supper in the crockpot yesterday and there was plenty leftover. If I had had to cook something, I wouldn't have gotten the raking done and Sophia wouldn't have been able to ride her bike. Plus, there were hardly any dishes to do this evening.
I bathed the girls, read to them, and had them both asleep by 8:20 p.m.! This is awesome because I rarely get Sophia to sleep before 8:45 p.m. (usually later) when I'm on my own.
Also, both my manager and my second-level manager left messages for me today. They congratulated me on my 10 years with SaskTel and thanked me for my dedication and hard work. Apparently my "knowledge and skills have been a huge asset to the company." Gotta like that!
And here's the icing on the cake: my house is looking pretty darn good right now because I've been flying! So my free time is actually starting before nine o'clock. Ahhhhhh.
