Twenty-five weeks and two days today. My baby ticker says only 103 days to go. I think probably less, but you never know.
I had a prenatal checkup this morning and it was good. Neil was in the city so he came too. My doctor is off work right now, so I have a new doctor and I like him (I have seen him before but not for about 18 months). Everything is just fine, but the doctor had a lot of trouble finding the baby's heartbeat with the doppler today. Usually the heartbeat is right there, quickly located, but today he searched for it for maybe 10 minutes and never really heard a clear isolated heartbeat from the baby. Everywhere he put the doppler, it was my heartbeat. The placenta is right in front and so that's part of the problem. Anyhow, I wasn't worried, but I hadn't felt the baby moving much today before the appointment (most likely because I was very busy and focused on work); however, when I got back to the office at 11:00 am, I ate some oatmeal and she's been kicking up a storm ever since! Definitely no problem.
I've gained about 18 pounds and seem to be on track to gain about 30 pounds in total, the same as with the other two. I'm lucky. I do try to eat well, but I've been giving in to my sweet tooth quite a bit lately! Also, the measurement of the uterus appears to be right on track. I'm glad about that because I always measured small with Madeline and then had a couple of extra ultrasounds to see if everything was okay. I do think I'm a little bigger this time.
Today marks the three-month countdown at work. My last day will be January 12. Although I've been enjoying work lately, I'm really looking forward to my maternity leave. My last one. Sniff sniff. It will go too fast. I'm lucky to get a whole year though (as I did with the other two).
