Six random things about me:
- No matter how tired I am, I find it very difficult to fall asleep if my feet are cold (because I can't stop thinking about my cold feet) so very often (maybe 3/4 of the time), year round, I use a hot water bottle to warm my feet in bed. I just started doing this last winter and I will probably have to do it for the rest of my life.
- At the beginning of my fifth year of university in 1992, I worked at Superstore for about month (I was only taking three classes). My job there was stocking shelves in the housewares department. I liked that job but had to quit after having a full appendectomy because I couldn't lift heavy boxes for several weeks following surgery.
- I absolutely cannot eat something of questionable freshness or internal temperature (certain foods). The mental anguish it causes me is not worth it! If I accidentally eat something that gives me the slightest concern, I may feel sick to my stomach even if there's actually nothing wrong with it. I'm sure it stems from having had food poisoning twice before, both times from undercooked or improperly refrigerated (I'm guessing) hamburgers.
- Every night, I read to Sophia and Madeline as I lay between them in Sophia's extra wide top bunk. When we finish reading, I turn the light off using a stick that's four feet long because it's way too much work to get out of bed to do it! Then I fall asleep with them and have a 10 or 20 minute nap (Neil wakes me up). It's the coziest place on earth.
- I have a love-hate relationship with my email inbox. I love corresponding with friends and family via email and I really prefer receiving electronic copies of bills and receipts rather than paper ones, but I have over 200 messages in my inbox right now and it's driving me crazy! I'd love to have it down to five or ten, but I can't seem to keep up with the incoming mail. In an effort to receive less email, I have unsubscribed to almost every e-newsletter I had been receiving. It probably doesn't help that I often email myself from work when I need to remember something. I have a lot of email from myself in my inbox!
- In the mid-80s, my family went to see Steve Landesberg (of Barney Miller fame; I like that show!) perform stand-up comedy in Saskatoon. We went because the event was organized by my uncle, and we stayed at the same hotel as Steve. After the show, my brother and I were goofing around riding the elevator up to the 15th floor (or whatever the top was) and down. Anyway, we ended up riding the elevator with Mr. Landesberg, and he said something jokingly to us... yeah, he knew we didn't need to go the 15th floor.
Okay, here's where my participation falls apart. I don't feel like tagging specific people... If you're reading this, you blog, and you want to do this meme, consider yourself tagged! Well, perhaps I'll tag Cheryl since she's new to blogging and may not have been tagged before.
