- completing and sending out Madeline's birthday invitations, and getting Sophia's invitations made too.*
- starting hard shoe Irish dance lessons on Tuesday. I'm continually amazed that I'm doing this (Irish dancing in general) since I didn't take any dance lessons as a child; in fact, not until my late thirties!
- celebrating Georgia's birthday. Our little family party at Montana's was easy and fun!
- attending Georgia's heart checkup. It's always great to hear that she's doing well (even though there was no evidence to the contrary).
- having better winter weather, finally.
- receiving the pre-class info for Organizing 101 which starts January 13. I can't wait to get going on this! I hope I can put lots of time into it.
- seeing Georgia give up her soother willingly. The day after her birthday, she happily threw them (she had two) into a garbage can and said goodbye; however, she has not settled down well at bedtime since then! She doesn't ask for a soother, but she won't lay still in bed for an awfully long time. Hope that changes soon.
- purging some stuff from our house: 20 items from the fridge and 20 items from my clothes closet. Yeah! (For some reason, counting these things makes me feel more motivated and satisfied.)
- completing Georgia's preschool registration. I'm happy to have this done in plenty of time to ensure a spot for her. It's such a great preschool and demand is high; plus, she's already familiar with the school and teacher.
- finishing shopping for Madeline and Sophia's parties (except for a few groceries). Everything is coming together nicely, and I actually like this party planning.
- helping Sophia make Oven Pancakes this morning (from her new recipe box) and then sitting down for breakfast with everyone. The pancake was good too!
- getting all the knots out of Georgia's hair (it's been awhile; she really hates having her hair brushed) and braiding it into two nice braids after her bath. That was a first for her, and she's totally enamoured with those braids. (Adorable!)
- sending the girls outside to play in the snow and sunshine in our back yard today. It was a beautiful winter day!
*For both, I found a suitable colouring page on the internet they liked (cowgirl boot for M; Winnie the Pooh for S), printed them out two to a sheet with the left edge of the images in the middle of the cardstock, folded the page in half, then cut out each image leaving the fold in tact. Easy!

Today I'm thankful for:
- Sherlock
- my computer
- electricity (I was reminded how much I appreciate this convenience when our power was out for a couple hours this morning)
