- having Monday off work. Man, I love having a holiday in February! Family Day rocks. (I'm afraid we didn't do anything super fun on Monday, but at least we were all home together.)
- seeing how much Sophia enjoyed having a sleepover at her friend's house on Sunday night. It was her first sleepover somewhere other than a relative's house.
- playing eye spy with Georgia in the van. She is so delighted to play this game, and she has her own rule -- I must not spy the same colour twice.
- going through our house and creating a master project list, a la Organizing 101. It's an awfully long list, but good to get it all down on paper. I'm determined to get this house in order, and I've never felt as equipped to do so. I'm glad I took this class.
- getting a new chest freezer and filling it with our own fabulous bison meat. We got a new batch on Friday; about 360 lbs. Our new freezer (9 cubic feet) is completely full, plus two shelves of our upright freezer. It's so nice having a ready supply.
- clearing space in our laundry room for the new freezer. Apparently, this was the incentive we needed to get busy and start reorganizing our laundry room. We removed loads of stuff, and there's more to do, but it's so much better now!
- attending an outdoor family skate night (a fundraising event for the school playground) Friday evening. Such a great community! We all skated for a little while.
- getting another batch of 2007 photos printed. Slowly but surely, I will get my digital photos printed (the best 30-35%, that is) back to mid-2004. I really love seeing the prints. (I now have all of 2008, the first half of 2007, and January 2006 printed.)
- dealing with the girls' clothes, finally. I do not like doing this chore as it takes several hours, but I'm very happy when it's done!
- helping Sophia get her project done for Brownie badge testing on Tuesday. It was initially frustrating for me because Sophia likes to procrastinate and then hurry once started, but it turned out well. She made a display (photos + words) called "How to Make a Snowman".
- eating the bison sausage Neil made yesterday. He made about 13 pounds, seasoned according to our recipe for deer sausage and smoked with pecan wood. It turned out very well! Lots of work, though; it took him about 4.5 hours (which included grinding the meat twice). Hoping to get faster with experience!
